Wildebeest Kicking Up Dust

Species: Blue Wildebeest | Location: Okavango Delta Region, Botswana

Observing a small herd of wildebeest in Botswana, we were trying to get some backlighting as the sun set. These wildebeest began kicking up some dust around themselves, and the sunset colors lit up the dust cloud, silhouetting one animal. We had been hoping for some nice rim-lighting, but it was clear that we were able to find something way cooler than we were expected!

About The Photographer

Weekend and vacation photo enthusiast. I love bird photography, along with nature, landscape and other wildlife photography. Currently using Canon equipment, but thinking about moving to a mirrorless system. Bostwana and Galapagos Islands are two of my most memorable photo destinations.
