Species: Prairie Rattlesnake | Location: Wyoming, United States
This prairie rattlesnake was crossing a very busy county road when I came upon it. I quickly pulled over at a safe spot and grabbed my 8' snake pole to grab him and move him to safety. Normally when I do this the snakes quickly find cover, so getting an image is usually not a option. But this guy stood his ground, raising up out of the prairie grass and making it clear he was in no mood for any nonsense from me. I grabbed my gear, got low to get a good angle, and took a burst of images before leaving him to live his life in the open plains of Wyoming.
