Species: Hermit Thrush | Location: Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC, Canada is a terrific place to take wildlife photos, especially when it comes to birds. I have consistently learned to be surprised by what I can find there. Although I was happy with many of the shots I was able to get on this lovely fall (October) day, this shot of a hermit thrush was especially pleasing to me. These rather discreet birds are usually far more difficult to see (and especially photograph), but this time, I was able to observe them several times rather well and in different locations. And it doesn't hurt that in this photo, the red berries contrast well with the pleasant green background. This bird was not baited, called in or set up.
