Bear Stare

Species: Alaskan Grizzly (Brown Bear) | Location: Dog salmon River, Kodiak Alaska, USA

I had seen the female four years running. One can only speculate about the scat on her forehead (bare spot). The last time I saw her she had two cubs in tow.

About The Photographer

Cropped buffs1

More or less intrepid wild man, been traversing this planet for many years, love photographing the outdoors and its inhabitants. My avocation for photography began with photographing during my years in the U.S. Navy. Thereafter, from time in Saudi Arabia, Colorado and the west, Alaska, and Africa. My place on the planet has always been anchored in Africa, for nearly forty years, both working and traveling on my own. Childhood readings of Martin and Osa Johnson, and even Hemingway juiced those dreams to become reality. Some few of my photos have been published.
