Species: Kermode Bear, sub-species Am. Black Bear | Location: British Columbia, Gribbell Island, Canada

After spending a good part of the day fishing this Kermode bear was finally successful in catching a salmon. A Kermode bear, often called a spirit bear, is a subspecies of the American black bear. They are found only along the coast of British Columbia and number around 400. The photo was taken at Riordan Creek on Gribbell Island which is a part of the Gitga'at Nation.
