Species: brown bear | Location: Brooks Falls, Alaska, United States of America
This brown bear was just under the lip of Brooks Falls searching for salmon to fatten up on. He was one of over 10 bears we were lucky enough to see that day at the falls. This late in the season, many of the salmon have turned a lovely red. This shot was taken at an extremely low shutter speed to create the effect on the water. I took numerous shots, at this and slightly adjusted settings (mainly between 1/4-1/20 sec shutter speed). This was one of the few shots where the bear was generally motionless.
Thanks again to our Expedition Leader Justin for getting us to Brooks!
