Once in a Lifetime

Species: American White Pelicans | Location: Tennessee River/ Hiwassee River, United States of America

This photo was taken after a very large group of American white pelicans (over 200) rested on a small inlet on the Hiwassee River in Decatur, Tennessee. I got out on the boat and waited until it was somewhat calm and the sun went down. During the sunset the small grouping to the left were watching us watching them without the water being disturbed. I LOVE this shot, not only for the light, but the opportunity since these pelicans are not seen very often in Tennessee.

About The Photographer

Cropped img 6446

I am located on the banks of the Tennessee River in Decatur Tennessee. I have loved photography throughout my life and I always was too busy to pursue it. I have now relocated and have a beautiful and bountiful array of species of wildlife as well as sunsets to capture them in. I was surprised in 2017 when the group of consultants that I work with liked my work enough to invest in my photography and purchased a high end camera for my growing hobby. I am blessed with a beautiful setting to capture river life as well as a group of people that believe in me. That is a rich life!
