Species: Horse | Location: Assateague Island National Seashore, U.S.
In May 2014 I went camping on Assateague Island (Maryland side). I woke very early the first morning to take sunrise photos, and hoped to see some of the wild horses -- they weren't awake yet. After breakfast I walked the island, coming across a few of the horses, but still hadn't see the band that we were told had two foals. That afternoon I laid down in the tent to rest and became annoyed with a lot of commotion in the camps near me. I sat up and saw that the stallion had brought is band of females with about a 6 month and 1 month old foal into our area. I followed them around our camp (at a safe distance) until the sun began to sink. Assateague Island gave me a perfect sunrise and sunset that day.

About The Photographer
Hello, I'm Glen Fuhrmeister, owner and sole photographer for GF Photography. I am in love with taking photos. I have been taking photos since I was a young 4-H nerd taking my prints to the fair! I enjoy it so much that I've turned my hobby into a business. I am a natural light photographer. My studio is anywhere I happen to have my camera. I currently live in Washington, D.C., but still have very strong ties to my Midwest, Iowa roots. I try to travel often, and always with my camera in hand.
