Chatfield Hummingbird

Species: Hummingbird | Location: CO, United States

We were hiking through the little known Chatfield Botanical Garden. In fact, we were the only ones there on a hot July day. I spotted the hummingbird and already had a 300 mm zoom attached. Hoping to freeze the wing motion, I set the camera at 1/1000 and and the frames to high speed continuous, hoping that at least a few might give me a good focus. In fact, I was able to get several! This is one of them.

I am a mountain landscape/nature photographer currently living in Parker, Colorado. It has been my goal over the years to locate those hard to find spots, some that can be only accessed through back country travel, and showcase these spots to the best of my ability. Some Images come during a mile hike, some come during a week long backpacking trip. Above all, it is my privilege to share with the viewer my perspective.
