great horned owl, great horned owl photos, Tennessee wildlife, Tennessee birds

Species: Great Horned Owl | Location: Tennessee, United States

This was an owl I came across several years ago. It was an owlet who had failed a lesson in flying. I made sure no predators came after it until dark when it's mother came and, I assume, fed it and got it going again.

About The Photographer

Cropped california 014

I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Dallas, Texas in my thirties. I was always the photographer in the family and took alot of "people" pictures, mainly to stay out of the photos myself. When I moved back to the Tennessee area I moved back on the Hiwassee River and started spending more time on the River as well as discovering the world of Eagles. This in turn lead me into wildlife photography which I do every time I get a chance. I usually take entire weekends and after work days and turn them into a photography session on the lake or in the forest. I continue to improve and so I continue to perfect my skills. You are never too old or too young to get better.
