Kalahari Lions

Species: African lion | Location: Central Kalahari Game Reserve , Botswana

It was late afternoon in the Kalahari when we stopped in the middle of a field after hearing lions calling. Slowly, nine lions emerged from the bushes all around us, and we sat in the vehicle as they all checked us out. They spent about 30 minutes with us before heading out for their evening hunt. This photo was taken while on a trip to Botswana with Nat Hab.

About The Photographer

I am an amateur photographer and love nature travel and photography. I have traveled to Antarctica, the Galapagos, Costa Rica, and Africa. The safaris to Botswana have produced some of my favorite wildlife images!
