African Elephant

Species: African Elephant | Location: Okavango Delta Region, Botswana

While on a game drive in Botswana, our fabulous Nat Hab guide Dave Luck noticed some ripples in the water approaching sunset. He quickly pulled over and alerted us that even though we could see nothing at the moment, those ripples told him that an "ellie" was coming out of the reeds and to be alert. Within 2-3 minutes this beautiful elephant crossed right in front of us no more than 30 yards away, stopped to take a peek at us, (posed for me) and then continued on her way. We were breathless with excitement, and it was quite a memorable moment.
