Waiting Out the Snow

This polar bear was in the bushes, not far from our Polar Rover, waiting out the snow. The lighting was such that there was little color in the image, so I converted it to black and white. It looked like it was meditating.

Barry and his wife Susanna Maxwell retired from Northern Arizona University in 2010, after 19 years and 32 years on the faculty and in various administrative roles, respectively, to pursue their passion for travel and their love of photography.

Their photography interests focus on wildlife, people, places, and landscapes, but they also explore abstract compositions.

Susanna and Barry live in Flagstaff, AZ, in a home nestled among the pines trees with a view of the San Francisco Peaks.
