Seafood Special: Fresh Clams

Species: California Sea Otter | Location: Elkhorn Slough (Monterey Bay), USA

California sea otters were once hunted to near extinction. Numbers have rebounded, but they still remain an endangered species. Elkhorn Slough, in the Monterey Bay area, is a safe haven to over a hundred of these amazing animals. I got this photo while kayaking in the slough.

About The Photographer

I love the outdoors. The farther out, the better. Nature and wildlife photography is a natural extension of that. God created a beautiful world for us to enjoy and we haven''t completely screwed it up yet! The camera gives me a great excuse to get outside and gives me a whole new way of seeing things that I've looked at a thousand times.
