Species: Turquoise-Browed Motmot | Location: Guanacaste, Costa Rica
We were on our way to our lodge for the night. Suddenly the guide stopped and pointed out the Motmot. We stopped at some distance. Before getting out with the tripod and large lens, I took a shot while hanging out the window. We quietly got out of the car and I set up the tripod and lens slowly. Luckily the bird wasn't skittish. I quietly took pictures and then moved a little closer. I finally got the picture I wanted before the bird flew off.

About The Photographer
I'm a world traveler who has been traveling the globe for the past 15 years, visiting places that are being most impacted by global warming. My initial photography interest was in macros of plants and flowers, but once I obtained a longer lens, I became an avid wildlife photographer. I enjoy visiting off-the-beaten-path places and capturing images of the flora and fauna. I also enjoy sharing these images and experiences with others through my web site and personal presentations.
