Species: Orca | Location: Antarctica, Antarctica
We were in Antarctica and saw a group of Orcas trying to isolate a young fin whale from it's mother. Most of the group was watching the group of Orcas and the fin whales. I looked down over the railing and saw an Orca right next to the ship. I was able to capture three images - under water, just breaking the surface and further breaking the surface. This is the third image. The Orca then went under the ship and was off.
About The Photographer
I'm a world traveler who has been traveling the globe for the past 15 years, visiting places that are being most impacted by global warming. My initial photography interest was in macros of plants and flowers, but once I obtained a longer lens, I became an avid wildlife photographer. I enjoy visiting off-the-beaten-path places and capturing images of the flora and fauna. I also enjoy sharing these images and experiences with others through my web site and personal presentations.
