The Penguin Slide

Species: Polar Bear | Location: Churchill, Manitoba, Canada

Usually with their rump in the air, polar bears use their hind legs to push themselves along the ice. This helps clean their fur and the ice keeps their bodies cool. A side benefit is that it's so darn cute for us to watch and photograph!

Eric's illustrious career began in Alaska in 1989, where he worked as a field researcher on many of the state’s diverse animal species, including river otters, waterfowl, moose and reindeer.
