Species: Prairie Rattlesnake | Location: Kansas, United States
This rattlesnake may look big in the picture but is actually only about 10 inches long. He/she made a beeline to a close rocky shelter when I came walking through, rattling the whole way there. After a little encouragement, I was able to get him/her out from underneath a rock enclosure and back into the open area, where the photoshoot began!
