National Mammal

Species: Bison | Location: Yellowstone National Park, USA

Bison are the largest land mammal in North America, and Yellowstone is the only location in the U.S. where bison have lived continuously since the prehistoric era. The population in Yellowstone National Park fluctuates, but can be as high as 5,000 strong. This particular bison was photographed while on a trip to Yellowstone with Nat Hab.
