Bison are the largest land mammal in North America, and Yellowstone is the only location in the U.S. where bison have lived continuously since the prehistoric era. The population in Yellowstone National Park fluctuates, but can be as high as 5,000 strong. This particular bison was photographed while on a trip to Yellowstone with Nat Hab.
About The Photographer
Eric's illustrious career began in Alaska in 1989, where he worked as a field researcher on many of the state’s diverse animal species, including river otters, waterfowl, moose and reindeer.
