The volume of king penguin on South Georgia is staggering. Noise, odor and color abound. After soaking it in for an hour or two, I picked a pair of penguins to follow about and see what they did. They walked, they stopped, walked some more, chatted with others, repeated the process. Then they spent a few moments together alone away from the fray before separating and going in different directions. Following those two was the best 20 minutes I spent that day.
