Species: Giraffe | Location: Marakele National Park, South Africa
On an unusually misty morning near the Waterburg mountains in Marakele - we got down low with on the ground to watch. This group of giraffe were as curious about us as we were of them. We spent time watching them, them watching us, as they edged closer. Being low to the ground, they felt less threatened and after spending some time with us, eventually decided it was time to move along and find some more food
About The Photographer
Susan has so far travelled to over 40 countries and 5 continents to create her photography portfolio. A particular favourite is Africa, and Susan has just returned from her 4th trip to Africa, this time concentrating on the amazing wildlife in the landscape in the Marakele National Park in South Africa.
In the last 2 years, Susan has exhibited her work at the Joe Cornish Gallery in Yorkshire, Highcliffe Castle in Dorset and the PineWalk Open Art Exhibition in Bournemouth. She is currently showing some of her work at Coastal Creatives, a shop and gallery in the beach-side town of Southbourne in Dorset.
Susan moved back to Australia in December 2014 to enable her to further explore and photograph her home country. She is also planning to return to Africa to further develop her wildlife in the landscape portfolio and hopes to finally realise her dream of seeing the wildlife and landscapes of Antarctica. She continues to work towards her dream of becoming a professional landscape photographer.
