Pennsylvania Pileated Woodpecker

Species: Pileated Woodpecker | Location: Pennsylvania, Pennypack Ecological Trust, United States

I found this guy in a group of three other woodpeckers. I followed them around until they took off across the field. The way they fly is quite funny and It’s obvious that their weight and short wings interfere with flight because they look like a wounded bird when flapping through the air trying to stay up.
