The Beautiful Blue

Species: purple sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) | Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India

This photo was taken in my residential complex on the outskirts of a south Indian city. With lots of trees, plenty of sunbirds are seen here. I was attracted by the purple sunbird, particularly the blue color of the male. Earlier I had taken a photo of the male when it was under eclipse plumage. But I was looking for the pure blackish-blue color and I found this lovely bird sitting on the top branch of a tree with a "thoughtful eye" . The colors of the tree leaves further gave a boost to the image. Fortunately, I had my camera and lens and the bird gave a very nice pose.
