Species: Juvenile Great Blue Heron | Location: Colleyville Nature Center, United States of America
I was hoping to get some good shots when I noticed this juvenile heron standing still in the shallow water, stalking it's prey. Quickly, a straight line shot through the water with ripples following, the heron jumped to where the line ended. Too slow, the fish had escaped. Again, another line shot through the water and this time, the fish was not so lucky. The Juvenile great blue heron struck quickly and accurately. Out came this fish, fighting for it's life. We all know how the story ends. The heron ate it's meal and rested, before flying away.
