Species: Alaska Brown Bear | Location: Lake Clark National Park, Alaska, United States of America
This photo was taken on the beach at Lake Clark National Park. The sow and her cub were feeding on clams. Something distracted them and they are both gazing in the same direction.

About The Photographer
I have been engaged in landscape and wildlife photography since 2013. I am a retired cardiologist. I seek to capture the mysterious, encompassing nature of the landscapes I photograph. I look for juxtapositions of contrasting elements, such as the mountains with the sky or glaciers with water.
When photographing wildlife, I experiment with varying distances. My close-ups are intended to portray intimate, noble portraits of my subjects, whereas my longer-range images depict wildlife as spontaneously encountered in their natural habitats.
