Guardian Swans

Species: Mute swan | Location: Redbud Island, Austin, TX, United States of America

Though not native, swans have long nested along the edge of Redbud Island at the upper end of Ladybird Lake, on the Colorado River in Austin. The male was patrolling the waterfront while his mate sat on the nest.
