Break Time

Species: Mustang | Location: Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, United States of America

Mustangs pause for a cool drink from the river after a long run across the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in South Dakota. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and he knew that visiting the sanctuary was a dream come true for me. Every moment spent on the sanctuary kept me in awe, from the majestic creatures that graced the expansive prairie, to the staff at the sanctuary working passionately to rescue and preserve the wild Mustangs of the American West.

About The Photographer

I started taking photography, and more specifically, bird photography, seriously, after a Red Tailed Hawk landed on a sign at a Wildlife Refuge many years ago, not more than a few feet from where I stood. I was struck by this fierce, beautiful creature and from that point on, I was inspired and have made it my mission to capture birds of prey and other wildlife in their natural surroundings and share these images with others.
