Species: Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) | Location: Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy
I took this photo during my internship for the university thesis on the ethology of the alpine ibex at the Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy, one of the most important national parks in Europe.
I was following a group of male ibex to record information about their daily activity, when I saw that the group was approaching a stream. Then I pulled out the camera that I always carry in the hope that one jumped the stream, so as to capture the ibex in one of its main skills. And fortunately that's what happened.
This is why I love my job—because it gives me moments like that, in contact with nature and animals, always in the company of my camera.
