Posing for His Portrait

Species: banded mongoose | Location: Okavango Delta, Botswana

This is a banded mongoose, sitting (with numerous other mongooses) on a termite mound. I was on safari in the Okavango Delta, Botswana in March of 2016. I had such a wonderful time on the safari viewing and photographing a wide variety of mammals and birds, as well as the gently flooding countryside.

About The Photographer

I have been an enthusiastic amateur photographer since the age of 11 (I'm now 75) when I got my first camera, a Kodak Brownie. The submitted photo is one of many I took while on safari in Botswana in March of 2016. The safari provided me with a myriad of opportunities for wildlife and scenic pictures, my favorite types of photography.
