Species: Bald Eagle | Location: McNeil River State Game Preserve, United States
A bald eagle flies over McNeil River while photographing brown bears. Although the bears are certainly the attraction at McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, there are many other animals to enjoy watching as well. On my trip I photographed meadow jumping mice, bald eagles, red fox, and a variety of songbirds and gulls. The bald eagles are quite clever at waiting for scraps of salmon in McNeil River. They swoop down into the river as the scraps float away and carry it off to the grassy knolls along the river.
