Species: Atlantic Puffin | Location: Ile de Mignants, Quebec, Canada
Sometimes nature photography is not about chasing your subject but watching and waiting for something to happen on its own. While my husband was shooting puffins whipping by us at neck-break speed, I focused on those left behind on the hillside near their nesting burrows. This three-way kiss is not something I had ever seen or hoped for, but it's real and happened right before me on Ile de Mignants in Quebec.
