Species: Red-Tailed Hawk | Location: Yellowstone NP, United States of America
By Emily Simmons
This juvenile red-tailed hawk lit in the trees above a group of tourists, myself included, who were far too busy watching wolves to pay him much attention. He watched for a few minutes until something in the distance caught his eye and he took off as quietly as he arrived.
About The Photographer
My photography is a years-long hobby that I got into because I have a hard time describing to others how I experience the world. I discovered that pictures do it so much better than I ever could, so I took a few classes and continue to learn through experience.
I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and am happiest when I am exploring parks and wilderness, usually looking for wildlife, my other passion. I am a wildlife biologist and seeing animals through a camera lens has widened my view of the natural world.
