American alligator, Brazos Bend State Park, TX, United States of America
Quicksilver

Species: American alligator | Location: Brazos Bend State Park, TX, United States of America

Lazy sunny Texas afternoon. Not only humans like midafternoon nap. The entire nest of this 2 months old alligator babies is scattered on the nearby logs and trees sleeping or sunbathing. Everything is still. Everything...except one baby alligator who is not sleeping, who is full of motion and energy! He is taking the leap and going into the dangerous waters! He breaks the mirror of the still lake water into a never-stopping quicksilver!

About The Photographer

I'm a graduate student in computational material science. Which means I spend every day in front of computer screen. And the only way one can survive this type of lifestyle is by seizing every opportunity to escape into the wild! I, personally, do it with camera in hands: "To see - to capture - to share!"
