Species: American Bison | Location: Yellowstone National Park, United States of America
This photo was taken towards the end of the rut in Yellowstone. The bison herd had just swam across the Yellowstone river and heading up the slopes of the Hayden Valley. This bull was trying to get a last ditch effort in on finding a willing mate but he was not getting any attention. He tried everything...he raked the base of a sizeable pine tree with his horns and then he peed on the dirt and began pawing the earth to get a nice bouquet of bison wafting on the breeze but alas the only attention paid to him was by the paparazzi. Perhaps this year with another year of growth and experience he will experience better luck.
