Species: Arctic Tern | Location: Alaska, , United States of America
By Shanna Carr
While patiently waiting for a pair of nesting Loons to welcome their new chicks, we were treated with another new arrival. A young Arctic Tern chick sitting on a lily pad is calling to make sure mom is nearby. She is sitting in a tree not far from her cute little ball of fluff.
About The Photographer
Having roots in Alaska, Colorado and now calling the
beautiful Pacific Northwest home, has given me a love of all wild creatures,
an appreciation of the outdoors and a sense of adventure.
Photography is a journey, capturing moments of unexpected
beauty, telling a story and making the ordinary somehow magical.
It is also about patience and sometimes being in the right place
at the right time. My favorite photo might be the one I take tomorrow.
