Lions Need Shade Too

Species: Lion | Location: Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania, United Republic of

This photo was taken in July 2011 on a photo safari in Tanzania, immediately following my summit to Mount Kilimanjaro. I was on the trip in support of a Christian based school called Impact Africa. Our vehicle pulled right up into an area of lions. Some of the lions were napping, and the others were very calm while they backed themselves under the vehicles to find shade. It was quite the sight!
