2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Southern White Rhino, Madikwe, South Africa
Fade to Black

Species: Southern White Rhino | Location: Madikwe, South Africa

As the sun was setting over a water hole in S. Africa we watched this herd of 7 S. White Rhinos come in and drink and roll in the mud. It was awesome to see them as always, but I was left wondering as the sun faded if I wasn't watching a macro version of an entire species. There a some really great organizations working to stop rhino poaching, but anything else we can do needs to be done or they will disappear on our watch and that is not acceptable.
