A Line in the Sand
Species: Coywolf/Eastern Coyote | Location: Whitby, Ontario, Canada
I had tracked a Coywolf to its den and came back later in the week. I camped out up a hill waiting for it to reappear for a few hours. Suddenly, a bird gave a warning call BEHIND me. I slowly shifted in my position to glance backwards and the alpha female was standing about 20 feet from me, observing me the whole time. I tried to stand up to get a better angle, and she promptly put her ears flat and showed some teeth until I sat back down and took this shot.
