Wild Fossa in Tree
Species: Fossa | Location: Kirindy Mitea National Park, Madagascar
Fossas are quite difficult to see in the wild, and it was a privilege to get this encounter. We found this one outside a remote camp in Madagascar. She was well known to the cooks at the restaurant for stealing food. In fact shortly after this photo was shot, she came down and ran off into the forest with a whole chicken stolen from the camp!
