Wild Horse, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, United States of America
Mother and Son

Species: Wild Horse | Location: Theodore Roosevelt National Park, United States of America

This was one of the groups of wild horses I was lucky enough to come across in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. When I found them it was shortly after sunrise and they were grazing on the other side of a ravine. Among them was this little playful little colt who seemed to love annoying his mother. Eventually to my surprise the family crossed the ravine and wandered to the hills closer to me. All the time this little colt was running and playing. Eventually he must have gotten a little too far away because his mother called to him, and he trotted right over to her. I was lucky enough to have my camera setup in that direction and was able to capture the reunion. He seems to have already learned that you don't want to make mom angry.
