Leopard , Rajasthan, India
Nelaam The mysterious Leopardess

Species: Leopard | Location: Rajasthan, India

I have always been interested in photographing the conflict between humans and wildlife, and specially big cats. My research revealed a place called Bera in Rajasthan, India where leopards live in relatively close proximity to humans. I planned a 4 days trip to that place, used the services of an experienced leopard tracker. The mission was tougher than I expected. After waiting for long time , and scanning different areas many times our efforts paid off, and this beautiful cat called Neelam showed up. She has very carefully sneaked out of her cafe ( I had to climb a hill to get close enough to get the shot). She is a successful mother, a dedicated hunter, and a very smart cat. I thank her for introducing me to her world.

About The Photographer

I'm a wildlife photographer who left the comfort of his house in Washington DC to travel across the world to capture the beauty and mystery of wildlife. Although I photograph all forms of wildlife, I focus primarily on big cats . I hope my images can make an impact by making people understand how beautiful these animals are and find ways to co-exist with them.
