Species: American White Pelican, Herring Gull, Double-crested Cormorant | Location: Lake Winnipeg, Canada
There are a number of islands in Lake Winnipeg that support breeding colonies for pelicans and other birds. They are closed to the public, but I was lucky to get permission to tag along on a Canadian Wildlife Service monitoring trip. I've never seen so many birds in one place.
