Great Horned Owl baby, Kalispell, MT, United States of America
"Peak-a-whooo"

Species: Great Horned Owl baby | Location: Kalispell, MT, United States of America

A friend of mine told me that in his back yard, up in a Ponderosa pine tree was a Great Horned Owl nest with some baby's. Although I'm not a 'birder', I went over to try and photograph them. Since the nest was high up in the tree and I didn't have a good angle for seeing the babies my photos of the nest were marginal. However, as I was waiting around for one of the babies to stick it's head above the nest, it actually left the nest and landed on a lower branch. Although the Ponderosa pine had a lot of needles and branches in the way, I was able to get a few photos of the baby looking my way.
