2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

American Bison, Yellowstone National Park, United States of America
Frosty Bison

Species: American Bison | Location: Yellowstone National Park, United States of America

Survival in Yellowstone is challenging for all creatures, including the almighty bison. Foraging through deep snow for sparse vegetation, only the strongest will see the light of spring. To photograph winter in Yellowstone, one must make reservations for a snow coach as the park is closed to personal vehicles. The cold and snow will challenge the photographer, but the beauty of the park and its treasures is unforgettable.
