Landing Gear Down!

A photographer can get excited over many things, one of mine is the awaited return of these beauties. A sure sign of spring in the mountains. Beautiful, shy, and quick, they are sought after by many photographers in my area. On one of my first outings of the year to find and capture some images of these little guys, I was pleasantly surprised to find several battling over this birdhouse to claim as their home for the season. I think his approaching landing says "this one is mine!"
