Peruvian Llama, Machu Picchu, Peru
What's down there llamas?!

Species: Peruvian Llama | Location: Machu Picchu, Peru

We were taking photos in the Scared Plaza at Machu Picchu, then a llama appeared behind my wife, then another, and another. Our guide Rosa said "they never come up here", so I was watching them all come to the edge of the cliff wall almost in unison, like they were lining up for a ritual. Several of them ended up staring all at the same point (I assume down at the river below?) at the same time for only a minute or so, then they dispersed as if it never happen. They clearly had their own thing going on and we were lucky to have witnessed it. It was both magical and hysterical.
