Species: Zebra | Location: Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya
Early one morning the sun was shining so beautiful on these two zebras and their surroundings. Normally they would have their head down eating but just at the right moment, they looked up for a portrait.
About The Photographer
Susan C. Burroughs Photography is a way of feeling, of touching of loving. It remembers little things, long after everything is forgotten. I have taken photos for as long as I can remember. When my daughter was born, I enjoyed scrapbooking. When my daughter left for college in 2013, I took up photography as a hobby. My husband, Keith, is my mentor. He already had the technical knowledge and was able to help me as my work improved. My photography also improved by taking many classes and just getting out there with my camera. I call my photography “THE HEALING POWER OF NATURE”. Photography helps me to slow down and enjoy the small stuff. While I have shot weddings, engagements, newborn and families; my nature and travel photography is my passion. I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at age 7. In 2000, I had a double lung transplant and in 2013 my husband donated his kidney to me. I have much to be thankful for and I like to show my appreciation through my photography. Since I started serious photography in 2013, my work has been published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution and has been selected for the 2016 National Juried Photography Show. In 2016, I exhibited my photos at the Emory School of Law. I have received 9 awards and placed in the Top 10 in over 50 photo contest. I am a member of GNPA (Georgia Natures Photography Association) and the Atlanta Audubon. Contact: theburoughs@bellsouth.net
