2017 Wildlife Photo Contest

Tiger, Ranthambore National Park, India
Arrowhead

Species: Tiger | Location: Ranthambore National Park, India

A regal female Bengal tiger, from Ranthambore National Park, India in April 2017 - her name, per our Natural Habitat tracker, is 'Arrowhead'.

It was *very* hot this day, but my wife Leona and I didn't notice once we started taking photos! We were actually probably quite lucky that the temperatures during our trip to one of the best places in the world to see Bengal tigers in the wild (Ranthambore National Park in central-north India) were in the mid to high 40s Celsius (~110-120 Fahrenheit) as it likely led this beautiful, endangered animal to spend more time at the watering hole where we found her, thanks to our excellent Natural Habitat tracker and guide!
