Bald Eagle, Juneau, Alaska, United States of America
Bald Eagle

Species: Bald Eagle | Location: Juneau, Alaska, United States of America

While walking the grounds of The Shrine of St. Therese in Juneau, Alaska, I found this Bald Eagle perched in a Sitka Spruce above my head. I had my short lens on the camera when I saw her. I sat on the ground below her and switched to my telephoto lens. She sat, totally at ease with me under the tree. It was the pair of ravens nearby that harassed her as she sat in the tree posing for me. They must have had a nest nearby and did not appreciate a bald eagle in their territory.

About The Photographer

Cropped baldeagle
Growing up in a rural area, I remember days of exploring the fields, streams, and barns of my aunt and uncle's farm. I've always been a lover of nature and am happiest outside, lately with my digital camera. I hope to capture some of nature's treasures and share it with others to instill in them a love and appreciation of our natural world. Photography and writing about my experiences is a hobby I enjoy sharing with family and friends.
